High pitched ear ringing is a specific complaint among some of my patients. When people mention a high pitched noise in their ears, the natural thought is that it may be a different condition. But the reality is, ringing in the ears is a subjective experience.
Everybody experiences it differently and the pitch of the ringing varies from person to person. It can even change with time or other bodily changes. Not only can it vary between people and within one person, but high pitched ear ringing can vary day by day. Sometimes, you may have constant high pitched ringing in the ears. Or, you may experience occasional high pitched ringing in the ears.
Just know, how you experience your symptoms is personal. Some patients have asked me: what causes high pitched ringing in my ears? My answer is simple – the same causes of any and all types of tinnitus, really. Noise exposure, age related hearing loss, high blood pressure, ear disorders. Read more about common causes here.
Because high pitched ringing in the ears seems to be a common concern among my patients, I researched possible treatments that have worked for people suffering with high pitched ringing. Check out what I have discovered and share your own experiences in the comments.
Healing Vibrations Technique To Treat Ear Ringing
This was a remedy that I have learned secondhand through people sharing unusual methods that have worked like magic for them. While at first I was skeptical, I think unique methods have their place. Sometimes they work because they are completely different than the usual methods you have been trying. When you shock the body, in a way, you may get results that surprise you. I also believe that sometimes a cause for your ear ringing cannot be determined, you really have no clue what is leading to your symptoms. So keep an open mind when trying these methods. You never know what result you could have. Here is what you do for the healing vibrations technique.
1) Purchase an electric toothbrush. Some people have had success with certain brands because of the different frequencies with which they vibrate. You may need to play around with finding the right one for you.
2) Cut off the bristles and place a pencil eraser over the top. If the toothbrush attachment is small enough, you can place the eraser over the top without having to cut off the bristles.

3) Turn the toothbrush on and gently move the eraser tip around the ear. I recommend starting in slow circular motions and experiment with the best location and movement patterns that alleviate your symptoms. Just be careful not to jam the eraser tip into your ear canal.
While this technique is definitely unique, I imagine it works because it provides a gentle massage to the ear area and it creates a conflicting or masking noise. Together, it works as a dual method to reduce ringing in the ears.
Chest Pressure Point Trick To Reduce Ear Ringing
The chest pressure point trick sounds like an old wives tale but the only thing you need for this technique is yourself. The muscles surrounding the armpit area contain lymph node drainage points that impact the facial area including the ears. If you can stimulate that area correctly, you may feel relief from tension in the nose and ears. Some people report reduction of ear ringing as well.
1) Start with one side of the body. Get your pointer, middle, and ring fingers ready. Reach across the front of your body hook those fingers around the muscle the chest muscle. The pointer finger should be tight against the muscle on the inside of the arm.
2) Apply pressure gently and hold your fingers there. You should feel a pulse starting in the pointer finger and then spreading to the other two fingers. You should slowly feel pressure subsiding from the facial area including the ears. You may even hear a gentle pop.
3) After you spend some time on one side, switch to the other side of the body. Most people have had success by doing this 5-10 minutes on each side.
This method gets rid of the bothersome noises in your ear by opening the channels in the body and flushing out some of the toxins lurking there.
Oil & Ear Massage For Ringing Ear Relief
There are several natural oils and substances that are known to improve ringing symptoms when used by themselves. These remedies improve blood circulation, reduce inflammation, and heal infection. However, what about combining these ingredients to give a soothing boost to the ears and give you relief from those ringing noises?
1) Gather the materials – a small bowl, measuring spoons, a towel, and 2 cotton balls. Make sure you have a microwave nearby.
2) Get the ingredients ready – 2 tablespoons coconut oil (microwaved for no more than 3o seconds so it is in liquid form), 1 teaspoon hydrogen peroxide, 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar, and 1 teaspoon garlic oil.
3) Measure out and combine the coconut oil, hydrogen peroxide, apple cider vinegar, and garlic oil in the small bowl. Swirl or mix together until combined. Touch the surface of the mixture. Make sure it is slightly warm. If it is not warm, zap it in the microwave for 10 seconds or so.
4) Soak a cotton ball in the mixture you have created. Once it is fully coated, rub the cotton ball all around the ear in a slow, circular motion. Move it all around the surrounding ear area including the ear lobe, on the head behind the ear, and even let it lay gently at the entrance of the ear canal. Spend about 3-5 minutes massaging the ear with your oil mixture.
5) Take your towel and warm it in the microwave for about 30 seconds or until it feels warm to the touch. Roll it up until it is a long tube and then wrap around your ears. Sit or lay with the warm towel covering your ears for 15 minutes.
This technique heals with it’s health boosting ingredients, relaxes with it’s warmth, and improves your overall wellbeing by soothing your body and mind. Some other helpful essential oils that can work for getting rid of tinnitus can be found here.
